I've paraphrased Stephen Lethbridge and he's quite right; too many folk talk about technologies and practices that are right here right now: social networks like Twitter, 3D printers, coding, mobile computers. They talk about them like there is a choice to adopt or not to adopt.
It's imperative that we keep up because what is current now will be superceded before we can blink.
I'm fascinated by the possibilities of what we are still calling e_learning...triggered by a desire to engage learners as I am engaged. I went to a workshop a few years ago and on returning to school, the principal asked me what I thought. "Like a hog in mud," I enthused. E_learning isn't just about using digital tools. It's about developing a whole new way of learning and starting to see that we don't have to stick with current models of education. The possibilities are exciting!
