About Me

I'm an educator in the beautiful Bay of Plenty in New Zealand.

I've been a high school teacher, administrator in an early childhood centre, branch president of a parenting organisation, retrained as a primary school teacher, e_learning leader, teaching assistant principal and now I'm DP at an intermediate where I'm in charge of curriculum and assessment, lead teacher for literacy and the person who fixes the computers.

I've been in three ICT professional development clusters; I'd love to help all our local schools come together to make a unit that will be sustainable into the future. So far our group #connectedrotorua is going well; passionate educators meet twice a term, and we have hosted other events like Educamp and Eduignite.

I want to get teachers passionate about learning and integrating digital technologies, but know that things like national standards, hardware problems and limits cause a lot of road blocks for people.

In 2013 I was seconded for six months to be a BeL facilitator for Te Toi Tupu for .4 of my week. A new challenge! I love mentoring teachers and sharing what I can.
